Meet the maker
Meri has loved weaving since primary school, from the age of 12, and learned it from her parents. In 1997 she came to West Papua as a transmigrant. Not knowing the business opportunities there, she used her weaving skills to make Kain Tenun Saijaob. She was drawn to making woven cloth typical of NTT, and Saijaob became her brand.
